Black Brow from Iburndale 17.3.19
A relatively easy stroll at 4.5 miles.
This was a rare visit to the North Yorkshire Moors. Staying in the hamlet of Iburndale as a base to visit the local area, including Whitby, Goathland, Sandsend and Scarborough, I had the opportunity to put boot to a hill. There are a number of local highpoints surrounding the area and I had scoured the OS map to look for something that at least had a trig point on its summit. I came up with Black Brow. The walk takes you quickly up on to the moor tops, a vast area of moorland that stretches from the coast to as far as the eye can see. Fairly new territory for me who is used to the Dales or the Peak District when on a ramble.
The walk was not disappointing, some truly stunning moorland to behold.
The summit of Black Brow makes for a great viewpoint, with, in particular, Whitby Abbey and the coast to the east.
Thank you for stopping by.
